On June 7, 2017, 15-year-old Jacquez H. Mack was shot and killed in Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side of Chicago. Jacquez was standing on the sidewalk alongside another teen, Corey Hill, when a masked gunman exited a vehicle and opened fire on both teens. After the shooting, the assailant returned to the vehicle and fled the scene. Both Jacquez and Corey were rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital, where they were pronounced dead shortly afterward.
