On May 27, 2024, at approximately 8:18 p.m., the Henderson County Sheriff's Office in Texas received a distressing call from 61-year-old Patricia Ann Childs. She reported that she had just shot her boyfriend, 53-year-old Troy Allen Alldredge, and that he was not breathing. The incident occurred at their residence in the 15000 block of Morning Star Circle, located just outside of Eustace, Texas.
Upon arrival, deputies found Alldredge's lifeless body outside the residence, exhibiting obvious gunshot wounds. Inside the home, they discovered Childs seated with a handgun on the floor nearby. Emergency Medical Services personnel assessed Childs at the scene, after which she requested to be transported to UT Athens Emergency Room for further evaluation. Following her release from the hospital, Childs was arrested on charges of murder and taken to the Henderson County Jail, where she awaited arraignment.
The investigation was conducted with the assistance of the Henderson County District Attorney’s Office and the Texas Rangers. A search warrant for the residence was issued by 392nd Judicial District Judge Scott McKee, and an autopsy for Alldredge was ordered by Justice of the Peace Precinct 5 Judge Tanya Norris at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Science in Dallas.
Alldredge's obituary notes that he was born on October 22, 1970, in Dallas, Texas, and relocated to Mabank, Texas, in September 1983. He is survived by his two sons, one daughter, his parents Helen and Darrell Alldredge, his sister Shelly Alldredge Roberts, his brother and sister-in-law Richard and Kay Alldredge, as well as three nieces, one nephew, and two great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alicia Craft Alldredge. A visitation and funeral service were held on June 14, 2024, at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home & Memorial Park in Mabank, Texas.
Records indicate that Alldredge had previous encounters with law enforcement. He was arrested on November 14, 2016, for assault causing bodily injury to a family member, and again on January 27, 2020, for assaulting a family or household member with a previous conviction. Additionally, on September 30, 2021, he was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
As of the latest available information, Childs remains in custody, facing charges related to the shooting death of Alldredge. The case has garnered attention due to the nature of the crime and the individuals involved. Further developments are anticipated as the legal process continues.
