On August 16, 2024, at approximately 3 a.m., the Lockhart Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting gunfire near Rosewood and Trinity Streets in Lockhart, Texas. Upon arrival at a secondary location near South Colorado and Prairie Lea Streets, officers discovered 20-year-old Carlos Sanchez Jr. suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was promptly transported to a hospital in Kyle, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 4 a.m.
