On the evening of June 30, 2017, Javon Jackson, a 30-year-old African-American male, was fatally shot in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. He was on the porch of a residence located in the 5700 block of South Wells Street when two assailants approached and opened fire. Jackson sustained eight gunshot wounds and was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead later that night.
