On January 1, 2023, at approximately 11:06 p.m., Edgar Acosta, a 27-year-old male, was found deceased in an alley located in the 5400 block of Via Corona Street in East Los Angeles. Responding deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department discovered Acosta lying in the alley with apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
