On February 20, 2023, at approximately 12:03 a.m., Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies responded to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon near the SouthBay Pavilion Mall, located at 20700 S. Avalon Boulevard in Carson, California. Upon arrival, they discovered two male victims with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle that had collided with a light pole.
