On the evening of March 29, 2023, at approximately 9:16 p.m., Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies responded to reports of a shooting in the 13900 block of Rosecrans Avenue, east of Marquardt Avenue, in La Mirada, California. Upon arrival, they discovered 30-year-old Nestor Tlahuel Méndez, a resident of Santa Fe Springs, suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso. Tragically, Méndez was pronounced dead at the scene.
