Upon arrival, officers discovered 39-year-old Paul Fierro lying in the roadway with a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was promptly transported to Community Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead about 90 minutes later.
Investigations revealed that Fierro had been involved in a verbal altercation with another man prior to the shooting. The suspect, identified as 46-year-old Cristino Paul Rocha, allegedly shot Fierro during the dispute and fled the scene in a blue 1999 Dodge Dakota pickup truck.
An arrest warrant was issued for Rocha, who remained at large as of June 13, 2023. Authorities urged anyone with information regarding Rocha's whereabouts or details about the incident to contact the Fresno Police Department or Crime Stoppers.
