On November 16, 2023, Ana Garcia, a 68-year-old resident of Sylmar, California, was tragically killed in a murder-suicide incident. The Los Angeles Police Department responded to reports of a shooting at a home in the 13800 block of Tucker Avenue around 7:40 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered Ms. Garcia and a 53-year-old man, identified as Rene Vanegas, both deceased from gunshot wounds.
