On January 28, 2024, at approximately 7:58 p.m., deputies from the Kern County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of gunfire and a man down in the 1100 block of 10th Street in Wasco, California. Upon arrival, they discovered 40-year-old Fernando Torres suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite prompt medical attention, Torres succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The Kern County Coroner's Office later confirmed Torres's identity and his cause of death as homicide due to guns ...
