On February 25, 2024, at approximately 10:42 p.m., Tyrone Rogers, a 39-year-old man from Los Angeles, was fatally shot while driving in the Vermont-Slauson area. The incident occurred near the intersection of 66th Street and Estrella Avenue. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, two individuals—a male and a female—exited a vehicle and fired at Rogers as he was driving. After the shooting, the assailants returned to their vehicle and fled the scene.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner determined that Rogers died from a gunshot wound to the head, classifying his death as a homicide. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
As of now, authorities have not publicly identified any suspects or announced any arrests related to Rogers' death. The investigation remains ongoing, and the LAPD has urged anyone with information to come forward by contacting 877-LAPD-247.
In a separate incident, Tyrone Rogers was previously arrested on February 1, 2013, in Riverside County, California, for possession of a controlled substance. This arrest was reported by the Riverside Sheriff’s Department.
