On March 22, 2024, 18-year-old Kaitlyn Valdovinos was tragically shot and killed near Ernie Shropshire Park in Stockton, California. Officers responding to a welfare check around 5 a.m. discovered Kaitlyn with a fatal gunshot wound; she was pronounced dead at the scene. Another young woman, aged 20, was also found with gunshot injuries but is expected to survive.
