On April 19, 2024, at approximately 6:42 p.m., Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies responded to reports of gunfire near Atlantic Avenue and Rose Street in East Rancho Dominguez, an area adjacent to Compton, California. Upon arrival, they discovered 32-year-old Ivan Torres with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper torso; he was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
