On July 29, 2024, 36-year-old Orelia "Lia" Anderson was fatally shot at the Cardosa Village Apartments in south Sacramento, California. Anderson, who had been employed at the complex since 2019 and promoted to resident manager in 2020, was known for her dedication to her work and the residents she served. The complex provides housing for individuals with psychiatric disabilities and their children.
