On October 2, 2024, at approximately 1:16 a.m., deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Walnut Station responded to reports of a shooting at a Motel 6 located at 18970 Labin Court and South Nogales Street in Rowland Heights, California. Upon arrival, they discovered 31-year-old Adrian Urquia Gile, a Latino male, unresponsive in the motel's courtyard, suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso. Paramedics pronounced Gile dead at the scene.
