On October 11, 2024, at approximately 2 a.m., Tulare police responded to reports of gunshots at an apartment complex on Gem Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered two individuals inside an apartment: a 44-year-old woman, later identified by friends as Ramona Hernandez, and a 43-year-old man, both deceased from gunshot wounds.
