On October 7, 2017, 18-year-old Hispanic male Manuel Mendoza was fatally shot in the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. At approximately 10:50 a.m., Mendoza was standing near the driver's side door of a vehicle on the 1800 block of South Throop Street when a gunman approached and opened fire.
