In the waning hours of New Year's Eve, a celebration in Memphis, Tennessee, turned into a scene of unimaginable tragedy. Inside his grandmother's home, three-year-old Brayden Smith was watching television and eating, surrounded by the warmth of his family. The sounds of the holiday were suddenly pierced by the sharp crack of gunfire from outside. A stray bullet, believed to be the result of celebratory gunfire, penetrated the window of the apartment and struck the young boy.
