In the Castalia Heights neighborhood of Memphis, Tennessee, the night of February 21, 2024, was shattered by an act of violence that claimed the life of 60-year-old Marc L. Chism, a Black male. Just after midnight, Chism was engaged in a conversation with another individual on the 2000 block of East Person Avenue when gunfire erupted.
