On May 11, 2023, at approximately 5:54 p.m., a tragic shooting occurred on the 5900 block of North 21st Street in Philadelphia's Logan neighborhood, resulting in the death of 17-year-old Nazeem Rains. Nazeem sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center in a private vehicle, where he was pronounced dead.
