On the morning of July 24, 2023, at approximately 7 a.m., North Versailles police responded to a call reporting a body in a parking lot on the 1700 block of Lincoln Highway, near the former Phoenix Cinemas. Upon arrival, officers discovered 37-year-old Daniel A. Sloane, a resident of North Versailles, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
