On the morning of November 24, 2017, Manuel Salazar, a 22-year-old Hispanic male, was fatally shot while seated as a passenger in a vehicle in Chicago's East Side neighborhood. The incident occurred at approximately 10:18 a.m. in the 10000 block of South Avenue M, when an assailant in another vehicle opened fire.
