On November 9, 2023, in Columbia, Pennsylvania, 34-year-old Angelica Y. Marrero Morales, also known as Angelica Morales Damarts, was tragically killed in a murder-suicide incident. Authorities responded to a call around 4 p.m. and discovered two deceased individuals at the scene. The Lancaster County Coroner's Office identified the victims as Angelica and 47-year-old Ramon Eusebio Diaz of Lancaster.
An autopsy revealed that Angelica died from multiple gunshot wounds, and her death was ruled a homicide. Diaz succumbed to a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, with his death classified as a suicide.
Angelica was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, and was a cherished daughter, sister, mother, granddaughter, and friend. She was an active member of her church, where she enjoyed performing and dancing. She is survived by her parents, Gerardo Marrero and Damaris Morales; her husband, Juan Carlos Calo; and her three children, Luis Angel, Lizianette, and Sebastian. The campaign highlights Angelica's warmth, kindness, and dedication to ensuring everyone around her felt seen and loved. The family aimed to raise over $10,000 by November 17, 2023, to afford the necessary services and ease the financial strain on her children.
The incident has been officially classified as a murder-suicide, with Diaz identified as the perpetrator who took Angelica's life before ending his own. As such, no arrests have been made, and there are no other suspects involved in this case. The community continues to grieve the loss of Angelica, remembering her as a loving mother and active church member whose life was tragically cut short.
