On August 7, 2023, at approximately 12:30 a.m., 20-year-old John Davis was fatally shot during a home invasion on Camland Circle, east of Sharpsburg, North Carolina. According to the Edgecombe County Sheriff's Office, three armed men forcibly entered the residence, demanding money from the occupants. During the robbery, Davis was shot and killed, and the assailants fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.
