Ute M. Gonia, a 72-year-old female, passed away at her home in Gouverneur, New York. Born in Grevesmuhlen, East Germany, to Wilhelm and Eva Reinberger, her family later defected to West Germany, where she completed her education in business school. It was in Germany that she met her husband, Charles “Chuck” Gonio, who was serving in the United States Army. They married in Lockport, New York, in 1971 and eventually settled in Gouverneur.
