Curtis A. Hall, 32, a Black man from Savannah, died on January 20, 2011, after he was shot in West Savannah. In the records that remain publicly available, his death is remembered first in the blunt language of obituary notices, which said he “entered eternal rest” that day, and then in later reporting that filled in the violence behind those words: he was found with gunshot wounds between New Castle and Comer streets.
