In the early morning hours of January 10, 2023, the life of Joseph Scott, a 29-year-old Black man, was tragically cut short in the Hamilton Heights neighborhood of St. Louis. Just before 2 a.m., gunfire shattered the quiet on the 1400 block of Belt Avenue, fatally wounding Scott near his home. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
