On March 12, 2023, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Detective Sergeant Mason Griffith, aged 34, of the Hermann Police Department in Missouri, was fatally shot while responding to a disturbance at Casey's Convenience Store located at 115 Highway 19 in Hermann. Upon arrival, an altercation ensued during which both Detective Sergeant Griffith and Officer Adam Sullentrup, aged 31, sustained gunshot wounds.
