On the evening of January 5, 2024, what initially appeared to be a single-vehicle accident in Henrico, Virginia, quickly turned into a homicide investigation. Henrico County Police were dispatched to the 8300 block of Battlefield Park Road around 8:23 p.m., where they discovered a vehicle that had crashed into a tree. Inside the driver's seat was 18-year-old Terell Crosson Jr., who was found suffering from gunshot wounds.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital but ultimately succumbed to his injuries later that night.
Terell Crosson Jr., a recent graduate of Varina High School as of June 2023, was remembered for his affectionate and kindhearted personality. He had been active in sports, having played at Battery Park and run track at John Rolfe Middle School. At the time of his passing, he was working as a mail handler for the United States Postal Service. Those who knew him recall his love for video games and the time he cherished with his family, friends, and girlfriend.
The investigation into the shooting death of Terell Crosson Jr. led authorities to three suspects. Eighteen-year-old Daquan Omar Wilson of Henrico, nineteen-year-old Kesean Nicolas Kent-Powell of Sandston, and a 16-year-old male were arrested in connection with the homicide. Each of the three individuals has been charged with second-degree murder and conspiracy to commit robbery.
