In the early morning hours of July 1, 2015, a normal night out turned tragic inside a southwest Atlanta nightclub. Clarence Carter, a 26-year-old African-American male from Fairburn, Georgia, was inside the Blue Ivory Restaurant & Lounge on Whitehall Street when his life was cut short. The club was crowded at around 4 a.m. when an assailant approached Carter and, without any apparent argument or exchange of words, shot him multiple times.
