On September 28, 2024, the bodies of 50-year-old Winston Edward Hubbard Jr. and 48-year-old April Melissa Thomas, both from Richmond, Virginia, were discovered along Blue Bird Road in Dundas, Virginia. Each had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. A neighbor reported hearing gunshots between 8 and 10 p.m. on the preceding evening but did not alert authorities at that time.
