On January 20, 2023, 26-year-old Alex Kewan Donaldson of Orangeburg, South Carolina, was found deceased following a single-vehicle accident on May Branch Road in Saluda County. Initially, it appeared that Donaldson had died as a result of the crash. However, an autopsy conducted shortly thereafter revealed that he had sustained a fatal gunshot wound, leading authorities to classify his death as a homicide.
