On April 15, 2023, at approximately 8:25 PM, deputies from the Laurens County Sheriff's Office responded to a shooting incident on Coyote Drive in Waterloo, South Carolina. Upon arrival, they discovered three individuals with gunshot wounds. One of the victims, 37-year-old Darren Mandez Hill of Cross Hill, was transported to Prisma Health Laurens County Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
