In the late afternoon of May 27, 2023, the quiet of a Moncks Corner, South Carolina neighborhood was shattered by a tragic act of violence. On Birchwood Drive, 24-year-old Adiarylis Fowler, a Black/African American female, was found unresponsive inside a residence, having sustained apparent gunshot wounds. The Moncks Corner Police Department responded to the scene around 4:15 p.m., where emergency responders, including the Moncks Corner Fire Department and Berkeley County EMS, were unable to
revive her. The Berkeley County Coroner's Office pronounced her dead at the scene.
The investigation into her death quickly pointed to a domestic dispute. Authorities identified her husband, 34-year-old Trivelle Fowler, as the primary suspect in her killing. In a swift turn of events, he was located and taken into custody on the very same day as the fatal shooting.
Trivelle Fowler was subsequently charged with the murder of his wife, Adiarylis. Following his arrest, he was booked into the Hill-Finklea Detention Center in Moncks Corner to await legal proceedings. He is currently being held without the possibility of bail. While the investigation is officially ongoing, the initial findings strongly suggest that the incident was a case of domestic violence culminating in a fatal shooting. Law enforcement has encouraged anyone with additional information to come forward to assist with the inquiry.
