On April 17, 2024, 11-year-old Brentlee Eugene Crump tragically lost his life in a shooting incident in Scranton, South Carolina. The incident occurred around 8 p.m. on Clover Hill Road, where Brentlee was with his uncle, William Glen Richburg, who was also his guardian. According to reports, Richburg fired a shotgun at a tree near their residence and, for reasons yet to be determined, the firearm discharged again while positioned near his side, fatally striking Brentlee in the abdomen.
