In the quiet town of Six Mile, South Carolina, a violent encounter on the evening of August 18, 2024, resulted in the death of 49-year-old Steven Lee Basquette, a white male from Pickens. The Pickens County Sheriff's Office received a call around 9:42 PM and responded to a residence at 442 Crowe Creek Road. Upon their arrival, they discovered Basquette inside the home with at least one gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
