On April 30, 2023, a tragic shooting occurred at a house party in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, resulting in the death of 16-year-old Haeleigh Stamper and 18-year-old De'Arreis "DD" Smith. The incident took place after Bay High School's prom, where students had gathered for a party at a home less than a mile from the school.
