On August 19, 2023, 17-year-old Andrea Sanders was fatally shot while seated in a vehicle near North 44th Street and West Hampton Avenue in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The incident occurred around 5:30 a.m., when an assailant fired into the car, striking Sanders and another 17-year-old girl. Sanders was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other victim was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
