In the quiet town of Henryetta, Oklahoma, the life of 15-year-old Michael James Mayo was tragically cut short in a horrific act of violence that claimed the lives of six others. Michael, an active and well-rounded young man, was known for his involvement in football, cross-country, and track. His life, full of promise, came to a devastating end on April 30, 2023, when he was found deceased on a rural property.
The grim discovery was made after a search was initiated for two missing
teenage girls, Ivy Webster, 14, and Brittany Brewer, 16. The girls had been visiting their friend, Michael's younger sister, 13-year-old Tiffany Dore Guess. The search led authorities to the property of Jesse McFadden, a 39-year-old convicted sex offender who was married to Michael's mother, Holly Guess, 35.
On the property, investigators found the bodies of Michael, his mother, his sisters Tiffany and 17-year-old Rylee Elizabeth Allen, and their two friends, Ivy and Brittany. All six had been fatally shot in the head. Some of the victims had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The body of Jesse McFadden was also found at the scene; he had died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The investigation revealed that the murders occurred just before McFadden was scheduled to appear in court on May 1, 2023, for charges of soliciting sexual conduct with a minor and possession of child pornography.
