In a tragic and violent turn of events, 21-year-old Luke Hutchinson, a White male, was killed on October 11, 2024, in what authorities have described as a deadly robbery. The incident occurred inside his RV located near 125th Street and Maguire Road in the vicinity of Noble and Slaughterville, Oklahoma. Hutchinson, a resident of Lexington, succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.
The investigation into Hutchinson's death led to the arrest of two individuals, 26-year-old Bradley Banister and
16-year-old Avery Weiser. Both have since been charged with first-degree murder. Court documents revealed a troubling history between Weiser and Hutchinson, indicating a fight had occurred weeks prior to the fatal shooting. During that altercation, Weiser allegedly threatened to return and kill Hutchinson.
According to witness statements and court records, Weiser returned to Hutchinson's camper on the night of the incident with Banister. The suspects' accounts of what transpired next have been inconsistent. Weiser claimed that Banister gave him disposable gloves to wear during the robbery. He alleged that a fight broke out and that Banister shot Hutchinson in the back multiple times. Weiser also stated that Banister accidentally shot him in the leg. While Weiser admitted to bringing a gun to the robbery, he claimed he was unsure if he had fired it.
Initially, Banister denied knowing Weiser, but he later changed his statement after learning that witnesses had seen them together. He continued to deny any involvement in the robbery and claimed he did not own a firearm due to being a felon. However, a search of Banister's home by deputies uncovered a makeshift firing range, shell casings, and a pile of clear disposable gloves, similar to the ones Weiser described. Both Banister and Weiser are being held in custody as they await further legal proceedings. Banister's preliminary hearing was scheduled for November 19th.
