In the early morning hours of August 2, 2024, the quiet community of Kelso, Washington, was disturbed by an act of violence that claimed the life of a local man. Tobias Ray Smith, a 55-year-old Caucasian male, was fatally shot in an incident that is currently under active investigation by the Kelso Police Department. At approximately 1:54 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of South 6th Avenue following a report of a shooting.
