On a quiet Sunday morning in Bonney Lake, Washington, the tranquility was shattered by the sounds of a chaotic chase and gunfire. Adam Lindsay, a 46-year-old Caucasian man from Sumner, was killed on September 15, 2024, in a violent sequence of events that began with a stolen trailer. The incident started in the Prairie Ridge area when individuals in a white pickup truck allegedly stole a trailer. This act prompted a pursuit by people in a gold-colored truck.
The two vehicles engaged in a dangerous chase that culminated in a crash at the intersection of Rhodes Lake Road East and Falling Water Boulevard East. During the pursuit and at the scene of the crash, gunfire was exchanged between the occupants of the two trucks. When law enforcement from multiple agencies arrived, they discovered a grim scene. Adam Lindsay, believed to be the driver of the gold truck, was found deceased on the ground. Inside the white truck, another man, later identified as 36-year-old John Beers-Ferguson of Bonney Lake, was found with severe gunshot wounds and later died at a local hospital. Both men's deaths were ruled as homicides, with Lindsay having sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
In the aftermath of the shootout, authorities began a search for those who had fled the scene. A male passenger from the gold truck was located and taken into custody on suspicion of first-degree assault, but he was later released pending further investigation, and no charges have been filed against him. A woman who was a passenger in the white truck was also found and apprehended by police on a trail behind a nearby elementary school after neighbors reported seeing her moving through yards. As of the latest reports, no charges have been filed against her either.
