On March 4, 2007, 34-year-old Pascuala Mendez died in a tragic arson incident in Immokalee, Florida. The fire occurred in a mobile home on 2nd Avenue, which was engulfed in flames early in the morning. At the time of the fire, ten people were sleeping inside, resulting in the deaths of four individuals, including Mendez, her daughter Luciana Vasquez, and her young son Rodrigo.
