On March 4, 2007, 34-year-old Pascuala Mendez died in a tragic arson incident in Immokalee, Florida. The fire occurred in a mobile home on 2nd Avenue, which was engulfed in flames early in the morning. At the time of the fire, ten people were sleeping inside, resulting in the deaths of four individuals, including Mendez, her daughter Luciana Vasquez, and her young son Rodrigo.
Authorities found evidence of a prior arson attempt at the same residence just a week before, suggesting that the fire was deliberately set.
The investigation was led by the Collier County Sheriff's Office and the State Fire Marshal's Office. Despite extensive efforts, no suspects have been identified, and authorities continue to seek public assistance for any information that might help solve this case. The State Fire Marshal’s Office has offered a reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction related to the fire. The arson incident left the community devastated, and Mendez’s surviving family members continue to hope for justice.
