On the evening of March 3, 2023, Rusty Steele, a 40-year-old resident of Lisbon, Ohio, was fatally shot outside a residence on West Spruce Street. Steele had been visiting his girlfriend when an unknown individual knocked on the door, claiming their vehicle had broken down and requested assistance. Demonstrating his characteristic willingness to help others, Steele went outside to start his own vehicle to provide a jump.
