On February 13, 2024, 14-year-old Lauralye Sterling was found deceased from a gunshot wound in her Lima, Ohio, home. A freshman at Lima Senior High School, Lauralye was remembered for her love of drawing, social media, and playing basketball with friends.

Authorities arrested 18-year-old Malik Dennis in connection with her death. Investigations revealed that Dennis had been robbed by two juveniles inside the Greenlawn Avenue residence shortly before the incident. In response, he alleged ...
