In the quiet town of Luling, Louisiana, a domestic dispute escalated to a tragic conclusion, leaving a father and son dead in what authorities have described as a murder-suicide. Glen Paul Bourgeois, a 74-year-old male, was killed on Monday, January 9, 2023. The incident unfolded just after midnight at a residence in the 200 block of 4th Street.

Charles Parish Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the home after receiving a call from a woman requesting medical assistance for a man. Upon their arrival, they encountered the woman in the entryway of the house, pleading for an ambulance.
Inside the home, law enforcement discovered the bodies of Glen Paul Bourgeois and his 35-year-old son, Ryan Paul Bourgeois. The initial investigation suggests that an argument between the father and son led to the fatal shooting. Evidence indicates that Ryan Paul Bourgeois shot his father before turning the gun on himself. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.
Glen Bourgeois was known as a skilled custom knife maker and a handyman who could fix anything. He was survived by his wife, Mary Ann Bourgeois, and a brother. His death, a result of gun violence, cut short a life lived in his native Luling.
