On the evening of March 9, 2024, in Corvallis, Oregon, the life of a 34-year-old Black woman, Vonetta Johnson, was tragically cut short. Responding to a report of a shooting at approximately 7:21 p.m., police arrived at a residence on NW Highland Drive to a devastating scene. Inside, they discovered Vonetta deceased on the kitchen floor from an apparent gunshot wound to the head.
