On January 1, 2023, a fatal shooting occurred in the Mattapan neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts, resulting in the death of 33-year-old Jymal Cox. The incident took place early in the morning, around 5:56 a.m., in the area of 1601 Blue Hill Avenue. Boston Police responded to the scene and found Cox, who was pronounced dead at the site. Additionally, a second man was shot and suffered non-life-threatening injuries; he was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
