In the late afternoon of August 14, 2023, the life of 10-year-old Aubrianna Lynn Serra, a White female from Springfield, Massachusetts, was irrevocably altered. A neighbor from an upstairs apartment, 34-year-old Victor Nieves, forced his way into the unsuspecting family's home on Berkshire Avenue. Without warning, he began shooting at the family members inside. In the chaos that ensued, Aubrianna, her grandmother, and her older sister were all struck by gunfire.
