In the early hours of April 13, 2024, the life of 24-year-old Robert Nuah, a Black male, was tragically cut short on Allendale Street in Worcester, Massachusetts. Responding to a notification from the city's ShotSpotter system around 2:20 a.m., police discovered Nuah unresponsive. Despite immediate medical aid rendered by the officers and his subsequent transport to a local hospital, he was pronounced deceased shortly after his arrival.
The incident, which occurred not far from his home, was the fourth fatal shooting in Worcester that year.
Known affectionately as Bob, Nuah was a beloved figure in his community. A 2018 graduate of Worcester's Claremont Academy, he was actively pursuing a career as a dental assistant and was expected to graduate the month after his death. He had further ambitions to continue his education in dentistry at Quinsigamond Community College in the fall of 2024. His family remembered him as a loving and kind individual who could form a bond with anyone, turning strangers into lifelong friends. He was an active member of the Greendale People's Church and was known for his affectionate nature and willingness to always be there for others. A makeshift candle memorial was created for him at Fuller Family Park.
Following an extensive investigation, the Worcester Police Department identified a suspect in connection with Nuah's death. Lino Menjivar, 30, also known as "L," of Jefferson Street, was identified as the individual sought for the shooting. Menjivar was described as being 5 feet 5 inches tall with black hair, brown eyes, and facial tattoos. Authorities issued a warrant for his arrest on charges of armed assault to murder, carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building. Police believed Menjivar had fled to Virginia and cautioned that he should be considered armed and dangerous as the firearm used in the incident had not been recovered.
After a lengthy investigation, on May 30, 2025, thirty-one-year-old Lino Menjivar was apprehended in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. His capture was the result of a collaborative effort between the Worcester Police Department, the U.S. Marshals Massachusetts Fugitive Task Force, and other law enforcement agencies. Worcester Police Chief Paul Saucier expressed his gratitude to all the agencies involved for their dedication in solving the case, which was the last unresolved homicide in Worcester from 2024. Menjivar has since been officially charged with murder in relation to Bob Nuah's death.
